Recently, I made a trial batch of this lasagna for a dinner party I’m hosting in a few weeks.
It’s been years since I ate meat lasagna, so even though I thought it was great, I wasn’t sure how it would stack up for Italian food aficionados. So I had my dad, mom, grandparents and - the true test- my brother try it. The verdict? Turns out this really is the world’s best lasagna. My brother said he wanted to swim in it…I thought I was the only person who felt that way. (For me it’s about frosting though.)
What’s your favorite Italian dish?
Looks delicious!! My favorite Italian dish is probably veal parmesan or chicken milano. I also love my mom’s baked mostaccioli.
…I meant chicken milanese. My brain must not be up yet. lol
As I was reading your post I was laughing because my friends boyfriend said the exact same thing about wanting to swim in the lasagna I made for him, so I clicked on the recipe curious to see what was in it, and it was the same one I used! It really is the best!
Glad someone else agrees with me!!
That does look like the worlds best! …..I love lasagna! I’m also a fan of true Italian pizza! Makes me swoon!
Lasagna is one of my favorite Italian dishes! I think Pioneer Woman’s is da bomb, but using turkey rather than beef. I’m not a ground beef fan.
Yours looks pretty swim worthy as well.
Looks fantastico Gabriela! What isn’t my favorite Italian dish. It’s a tie between stuffed artichokes and italian green beans…we call them funeral beans in my family.
MANGIA!!!
I can definitely get naughty all up on that lasagna! My favorite Italian foods are meatballs and pesto. Meatballs were a Sunday staple growing up in my big Sicilian family. Oddly, pesto was never part of the mix and I discovered it later in life. Now I am married to a sweetheart of a Turk and make a dish that respresents both of our ethnicities: lamb meatballs with pesto yogurt.
That. Sounds. AWESOME.
I wouldn’t mind swimming in that either!! Looks so good. I love tomato sauce…oh and cheese. Ah! Oh, check out my most recent post if you have a sec — I put the pita pockets on there!!
FINALLY read it. Can you tell I’m super behind on all things blog-related?!
I used to lovvvvve manicotti…sadly I haven’t had it in years.
That looks amazing. Ha, wanted to let you know!
What’s your favorite Italian dish? = Not really a huge fan of Italian in general but a good Caprese salad will ALWAYS hit the spot!
Yes. With salt, pepper, basil and a little bit of really good olive oil…
I love lasagna! My dad made his recipe while I was home this week and I felt the same way about wanting to swim in it.
But I think my favourite Italian dish is homemade ravioli stuffed with ricotta, parmesan, mozzarella and spinach. I love all the cheese!
i rarely eat/make lasagna, but do enjoy it occassionally. So how about a recipe, sista?
Looks delish!
