Bon matin, mes amis! Happy Sunday! Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend so far.
Recently, Clare tagged me in an “11 Random Things” survey, and since it’s been ages since I’ve completed one, I thought it would be fun to participate. I’m supposed to:
- List 11 random things about myself
- Answer the 11 questions she asked me
- Come up with 11 questions to ask other bloggers
- Tag 11 bloggers to do this next
Alrighty then!
11 Random Things About Me
- I was a twin! True story. My mom miscarried the other very early on in her pregnancy. It’s so weird to think that there could have been two of me!
- My nails are always really short. I cut them until there’s no white showing, otherwise they drive me nuts.
- I have a lot of nicknames- Gab, Gabby, Gabs, etc.- and none of them bother me. Really. Call me what you want.
- Going on an expedition to the Titanic wreck site is my #1 bucket list item. Better start saving.
- When I get bad motion sickness, I hyperventilate and have carpopedal spasms. It’s really, really, really embarrassing.
- I played the piano for 15 years, but haven’t touched one since I was 18. I’m not musically gifted whatsoever.
- My face gets really hot when I drink red wine.
- I have a hemangioma (a benign tumor of blood vessels, I don’t even really get it myself) in my left thigh. It gets sore if I’m standing all day.
- I LOVE to drive, and consider myself pretty good at it, though I do believe that men in general are more coordinated drivers than women. Yeah, I SAID IT.
- I have pretty strong political views, but try not to talk about them with people who have different ideologies, because I’ve never witnessed a debate that actually changed anyone’s mind. They just piss people off.
- When I was born, my name was Danielle, but my parents changed it a few weeks later. My mom didn’t like the American pronunciation of it, only the French. Clearly she forgot what country she was living in…wishful thinking.
Questions I Have To Answer:
- Favorite condiment? Guacamole, if that counts. Or ketchup.
- How old do you think you’ll be when you die? I hope I die before I lose the ability to take care of myself. I’d rather have a great life till 70 than be a vegetable until I’m 100.
- If you could only eat fruits OR vegetables, which would you choose? Fruit, no question.
- Hair up or down? Up for convenience, down for looks.
- Flowers or chocolate? Chocolate. Though I’ve never been sent flowers!
- Bud Light or Miller Light? Miller. But really, I’d go for Coors Light. You can’t compete with the color-changing mountains.
- Gushers or Dunkaroos? Dunkaroos!
- Favorite type of M&M? Regular, peanut butter are a close second.
- Favorite beer? Mehh…can I choose five?
- What are you doing next Thursday? Working out. Working. Eating.
- Window or aisle seat? I prefer window, but I tend to choose aisle so my seatmates won’t hate me and my numerous bathroom breaks.
Questions for Other Bloggers:
- What was the last thing you watched on TV?
- Based on food alone, do you prefer Thanksgiving or Christmas?
- What’s your biggest blogging peeve?
- Who was your favorite Spice Girl?
- What kind of computer do you have?
- Where did you go on your first date ever?
- How old were you when you signed up for Facebook?
- If you could rename yourself, what name would you choose?
- Would you rather have a male or female twin?
- What’s your favorite book?
- Name one food you dislike because of a negative experience/connotation, not the food itself.

Answer a question from either of the lists above!! I love Clare’s “how old do you think you’ll be when you die” one…something I’ve never really thought about.
All those years and Mike never sent you flowers!? We gotta change that.
And I’m the same way about Window vs. Aisle..bathroom trips take priority.
I did get them a few times from both my serious boyfriends, but never sent- and it sounds absolutely ridiculous, but I’ve always wanted to be surprised haha. Such a princess.

My fiance has never sent me flowers either…although I have received them from my parents and grandparents. I think I still prefer chocolate over flowers though
.
It’s totally interesting your name was Danielle. Did they have it legally changed?
Yep! I have to put it as a legal name change on certain documents though, which is weird because I never remember being Danielle!
Getting flowers is the best thing ever. Hopefully someone will send you some soon!
I totally agree about your idea with aging-I can’t imagine not being able to care for myself.
No doubt about it, I am a pb m&m’s fan. 100%!
Great list and I think I’ve read that on your blog before about the vanishing twin syndrome as I think it’s called. What a fact!
How old…well, I’ll go with 147. Maybe they’ll have a feature to keep you alive past 100-ish by the time I’m approaching that age
I actually never knew it had a name! I just Googled it and it seems it happens most in women over 30- funny, because my mom was almost 40 when she had me!
I just did mine or else I would have done this one! I keep forgetting that we’re hemangioma twins! Or not so much twins because mine is much more unsightly haha!
Mine is just so awkwardly placed…in my butt…
I am with Clare on this one - how could he have not sent you flowers? MY mom was the first person who ever sent me flowers. I think I was 19, and it was Valentine’s Day. It made me so happy. Who needs a boyfriend, right?
I totally have a hemangioma too, although it is not intramuscular. It was discovered by accident when I had all my scans and tests done for my emboli. It’s on my liver, and it is only about a centimeter. Apparently, a good number of people have minor ones like mine. MY mom and dad basically described it to me as a knotted/tangled mass of blood vessels that is harmless. At first though, the doctor misread the report when he was telling me and my mom about it and he said ten centimeters when he meant ten millimeters, lol. We were all freaking out for a second. I feel like a ten centimeter mass would probably not be a good thing….
Yeah, it’s a giant knot of blood vessels! Apparently they don’t usually try to take them out because you run a high risk of hemorrhaging. Mine is pretty big though, I think a few inches!
Back in the day, my favorite Spice Girl was Baby Spice. Now though, I think I would have to go with Posh Spice. You just can’t beat the awesomeness that is Victoria Beckham!
I was always Baby
Thanks for the tag!
I totally agree that guac is the best condiment! Actually wait, it’s probably a tie with hummus. I can’t choose!
Oh hey, girl!
Thanks for the tag.
