Whew! Only two days left in this whirlwind week before I go home for Thanksgiving!! Since my half marathon is in Philly on Sunday and I only have two days of classes next week, I’m peacing out early and enjoying a few extra days of R&R at home. I can’t wait J
Registration this morning was a little stressful at first, but it ended up perfectly and I got all my first choices. Bonus: no classes before 12:30 PM, and weekends start on Wednesday afternoon. Amazingness.
In celebration, I picked up two of my favorite pita pockets for lunch.
With a side of fresh pineapple.
I also had a big bowl of frozen peaches thawed in the microwave, and a big unpictured handful of walnuts as I was running out the door!
This evening, I headed uptown to see Mike. He’ll be away over Thanksgiving break, so I won’t see him for a few weeks and decided to cook dinner for a date night in.
On the menu: Indian-style vegetables and brown rice.
I started by chopping two carrots, a zucchini, a red pepper, half an onion and half a head of cauliflower.
Then, I combined them all in a frying pan, added a can of chickpeas, poured in about half a cup of water and steamed them until tender.
Next, I added the entire jar of Patak’s Rogan Josh sauce, which we’d tried once before and loved. It’s flavorful with a definite kick (though as spice lovers, we did add a few shakes of red pepper flakes as well).
Mike took charge of the brown rice. I’m not a big fan, so I rarely cook it, but he’s actually an expert ;)
My first plate (I went back for thirds on the veggies, along with a bit more rice to finish the sauce):
When I got home, I broke into a dessert of frozen grapes + Ghiradelli chocolate squares and more unpictured walnuts.
Time to tackle the Google Reader- I’ve barely touched it since before the weekend!
What’s your ideal work or class schedule? I’m most productive in the mornings, so I like using them to clean/do homework/bake/exercise at my leisure before heading to class in the afternoon.

I don't know how I managed this, but last year as a freshman in my second semester I had no class Monday or Friday and no class until 1 on Wednesdays. I was amazingly productive that semester, too. Why can't life be like that more often?
Glad it went well! I usually choose morning classes as well! I feel like I get so much more accomplished in a day. I also set aside days for an internship.
I'm heading home early too! R&R is greatly needed :)
Ew that reminds me I have to register soon too.. glad things went well!
I'm definitely a morning person...which means that my students get a pretty tired version of me by the time my classes roll around in the afternoon and evening!
I like having classes in the morning and no later than 3:45. Ideally I'd be done every day by 1.
Amazing schedule!!! Work week shorter than the weekend? Ahh, that's how life SHOULD be!!
That looks super good! I'm always looking for new curry sauces -- thanks!
I'm a morning thinker so I'd prefer to end all my days at 1p ;)
I like starting class around 11. That way I have some time in the morning to work out/eat/get my stuff organized while still having free time in the afternoon.
I always liked to get my classes out of the way in the morning. I get sleepy in the afternoon, so I liked to take naps!
How do you freeze your grapes? Mine always end up ugly and brown!
I seriously love your blog! Just thought I"d let you know!!
Also, I have experimented with both kinds of class schedules and afternoon classes also work best for me. Nothing is better than waking up, getting a good exercise in, and tackling a to do list! Hah, I feel like my idea of a "good time" is so different from the typical college student.
I like my classes a bit later too- although sometimes I wish I utilized the morning more:)
Good Luck in your half marathon!! I think Im going to enter the Disney Princess half marathon with a friend...Im sooo excited!!!
Your schedule sounds awesome! I'm still working on fixing mine... and those pita pockets look great!
"Bonus: no classes before 12:30 PM, and weekends start on Wednesday afternoon. "
so lemme get this straight..you go to school from 12:30 to maybe 4pm on Mon,Tues, and Wed.
Ok can we please trade places for awhile! haha!
love it! so happy you have a primo schedule!
I registered for my classes today too! I tend to like my classes anytime after 12. I usually like my mornings to go kinda slow without having to rush around too much...
Can't wait for thanksgiving break as well :)
I remember registration days, and yes they are stressful! Lots of waiting and long lines. Glad to hear you got what you wanted... great schedule!
I'm also a morning person... after 4pm, forget it!
Lucky girl! That sounds like a killer schedule! Especially your super long weekends!
I actually don't mind having morning classes. And I like being done by early afternoon with NO night classes. I don't know how some of my friends sit through 7-10 pm classes! I would be falling asleep, haha.
Yay, victory!
My schedule is like that now and i LOVE IT! although it can be tricky having thursday and friday off...i just end up lounging around ;)
Schedule is different each day but I am most productive in the mornings and sometimes real late at night! Glad you got through registering for classes, that was one part of school I hated. LOL
