‘Twas another fabulous Foodbuzz party!
This evening, we all gathered at the Ferry building (home of this morning’s market shenanigans) for the weekend’s "fancy" event.
The party started with hors d’oeuvres and mingling outside the building.
Eventually, we moved indoors for dinner. The Ferry building was spacious and airy. Perfect for a large crowd!
And the settings were elegant to boot.

In addition to the omnivore menu, there were pescatarian, vegetarian and vegan offerings. I opted for the vegan selections, which began with a beet salad and crostini.
Next up were tofu “scallops,” with fennel and orange marmalade. I loved that they shaped the tofu to resemble real scallops!
The entrée was a plate of mushrooms: Portobello, mashed with lentil and shiitake, served with butternut squash puree and pesto.
Though I’m not a mushroom person at all, I found the dish to be rather decent! I didn’t touch the whole ‘bellos, but cleaned the remainder of my plate. Turns out I’m quite a fan of shiitakes!
Three slices of bread cleansed my palate between courses.
For dessert, I was presented with a poached pear topped with sorbet and cherry glaze, served alongside medjool dates, orange and grape.

After dinner, we meandered back to the hotel and ended the night by chatting for a bit in the hotel lobby. I feel as if I’ve really gotten much closer with a lot of blends on this trip, which I couldn’t be happier about!
Finally time for bed- I’m grateful for that extra hour tonight!!

That whole meal looks so yummy. And such pretty presentation too! I guess they knew you'd all be taking photos of it, so they had to make sure it looked pretty. ;)

I am shocked you dont like mushrooms b/c you love hummus, tofu, pickles, mustard...anything thats kinda smoky, salty, savory...shocked you dont like shrooms but glad you may be headed in that direction :)
