1. Georgetown Cupcakes. My friend Lauren has a super duper awesome job in which she gets to taste cupcakes from tons of different vendors. She saved me this peanut butter fudge cupcake from one of her meetings and….holy moly. Valrhona chocolate cupcake with a fudge core topped with peanut butter frosting and a fudge drizzle. The icing was one of those incredibly creamy, thick, more-buttery-than-sugary types that kind of leaves your mouth feeling greasy. Which means it was incredible, obviously. Philly needs to get on an upscale cupcakery.
2. Work. I can’t believe I’ve been at my PR internship for over a month now! I feel like I’m finally actually contributing something, instead of just annoying people. On Thursday, my boss sent everyone in the office a beautiful little flower arrangement for helping her out with something recently. So nice!
3. This dress. GUYS, I THINK I FOUND A GREAT DRESS FOR PROM! If I were going to prom. And I wanted to look like a 80s Barbie on acid.
4. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. I love, love, love this album. He was a member of Oasis back in the day, and it’s kind of Champagne Supernova-slash-Ben Folds. He has a few shows coming up and I’m dying to go to one!
5. Cosi. I’ve had it four times since last Friday. Their bread is amazinggggg.
6. That winter never came. It’s snowed measurably twice in 2012, and there’s nothing below 42 degrees in the 10 day forecast. It’s like Mother Nature decided to be nice to me for hanging around the Northeast.
7. Topsiders. I’m going to go ahead and be really bratty here and say that I wore Topsiders before they were cool. I got my first pair with I was 16 or so, and they’ve gotten me through tons of different weather, seasons and outfits. So while it’s kind of annoying to see them become a hipster trend, I do understand the obsession. And I’ll still be wearing them in another six years
What are you loving this March?
I am loving that “barbie doll” dress. Seriously…definitely 80′s prom! I am also loving the early arrival of spring here in Texas, the fact that it is getting lighter outside in the a.m. because now I can run around the neighborhood before dark without feeling like I am going to be attacked by some mass murderer. Haha! I am also loving anything sweet…cookies, cupcakes, candy, etc. Most of all, I am loving the arrival of Easter Candy…my fave are Reese’s PB eggs! Whoa!
YES! We had Whopper Robin’s Eggs at the office this week. Delicious.
I like those Sperrys too but I do not like the ones with the leather laces because they constantly come untied!
Get them wet before you tie them and they stay!
Haha, I’ve had mine since I was 17 as well
Is that the same pare that you have had for years?!? Question: How on earth do you keep them looking so great! So clean and great!
I need to catch a cupcake like that ASAP but I’m pretty sure I have months to wait! ….I am *so* pumped for you that your job is going so well! Flowers from the boss- that is amazing (not to mention rare)! YAY!
Nope, these I got in the fall! My first pair got soooo gross. They never fell apart, though!
I’m loving the blogger real-life events I have going on. Always fun to connect with people in person.
Can’t believe it’s been a month at your internship…and so happy to hear that you’re loving it!
The weather!!! Minus the storms/tornadoes last night..
OMG. That dress looks like the 80′s exploded…
Those flowers are so gorgeous!!! I’m loving being in the city (400,000ish) compared to my hometown of 8,000. I agree with Sperry’s also! I saw the cutest display of them the other day! I want to get another pair!
My mom ordered Georgetown Cupcakes for Christmas (we had them shipped to Indiana), and they were so good! That’s so nice that your boss sent you flowers!
I’ve always wanted to get cupcakes shipped but it’s crazy pricey. Christmas is such a good excuse for it!
Loving Reese’s Eggs, obviously (for some reason, they are just so superior to the regular reeses cup (more pb perhaps?)
And Noel’s solo stuff is fab, there’s something about that voice brings ya right back to when wonderwall and champagne supernova came out, circa age 13-14
Exactly. It’s like nostalgia and something new at the same time.
That dress is truly awful. lol
Never been, but there’s a cupcake bakery only a few blocks from where I live called Philly Cupcake. Not sure how good they are, but every time I walk by, I want one!
Haha, I think you need that dress!
Hope you are well lady.
After the winter we had last year, I am all for the mild winter we had this year! I was actually able to run and PR both on a half marathon and a 5k! The 5k is definitely what I’m loving about March so far.
That dress may be an 80′s barbie dress on acid, but I LOVE it! I love crazy dresses like that, I wish that I had an occasion to wear it to now! If I was still in college I would definitely of worn that to a formal
The little girl in me kind of secretly loves it too…so glittery. Takes some moxie to pull that off!
You NEED that dress. Stat.
I, too, love topsiders, though their trendy-ness is a bit annoying. At least it means they are more readily available? This march I am loving my new bright-blue moleskine notebooks that make taking notes in class and working on essays seem a little less tedious. But only a little.
I just got a new bright green one!
OMG that dress! Hahaha I’m dying!
Also I didn’t know Noah Gallagher released a solo album! I love him, I love Oasis, and I love Ben Folds… so obviously I need to buy it asap!
Right now I’m loving my new Lululemon running tights, sweet potato and black bean soup, and Yogi Egyptian licorice tea.
omg i NEEEEEED a pair of sperrys haha well i don’t neccessarily *need* a pair but you know what i mean. i would love love lovvvvvvvvvve a pair!
I am loving the weather this March! I get to wear shorts and a t-shirt to school many of the days… total score!
I’m so glad that the days are a little longer and that winter can’t stick around for much longer. today we did have some kind of freak blizzard, but the big flakes were so pretty that I’m not even that mad.
is Cosi just in the Philly area? because you make it sound sooooo good.
Big fan of that Noel Gallagher album! I’ve had it on rotation a lot recently. And I’ve got those same Sperry’s, I wear them all the time. They go with almost any casual outfit. Plus I would be a terrible sorority girl if I didn’t own a pair. Haha.
Lately I’ve been loving roasted vegetables. I eat them probably every single day.
It’s been the complete opposite for us here in the Southern hemisphere!! Summer, what summer???!!! I live in New Zealand and the weather has been, well, crap. Climate change I tell ya. I’m moving to Abu Dhabi soon, so I guess I better make the most of the rain while I’m here. Love the picture of the flowers too!
