"You Look Like a French Major"

I just got home from what was quite possibly the funniest awards ceremony of my life.

Normally, academic awards are presented excruciatingly boringly, so when I found out I'd be receiving an award for one of my French classes, I wasn't too stoked about the ceremony. However, they were given out by one of the most senior members of the department, an 80-something man who had no qualms about asking the most ridiculous questions possible.

"That's a nice dress, who bought it for you? Your boyfriend?"
"What's your major? French? Yes, you look like a man who studies French."
"A lot of Asians are getting recognized this evening, is that a cultural thing?"
"Can I have a hug?"

When I got my award, he asked me what I hoped to achieve in my life, and I said that I wanted to do something that involved cooking. His response? "Good, you turned out well." Referring to the fact that I am a woman, and I like to cook.

Totally politically incorrect, but that's what made it awesome- everything was in good humor! I'd like to nominate him to host the Academy Awards next year.

Before heading over to the ceremony, I made myself a bowl of smoothie cereal for dinner.

In the smoothie:
   -   1 banana
   -   1 scoop vanilla Sun Warrior
   -   1 cup almond milk

I topped it with Kashi GoLean, as usual!

For dessert, I had my usual apple and a little something I'd like to call oatmeal cookie dough.

Earlier today, I combined 2T rolled oats, 2T almond butter, 2T chocolate chips and 1T agave. I mashed everything together, then put it in a jumbo shot glass to freeze. Tasted like almond butter oatmeal cookie dough!

The texture was by far the best part- chewy and thick, and studded with hard chocolate chips. Like the jumbo tubs of cookie dough you used to buy from school fundraisers.

Though it's Cinco de Mayo, I'm being a loner and staying in tonight. I took French, not Spanish, remember? ;) Hope you have a fun evening if you're partying it up!

What language did you take in middle/high school? And if you could choose from everyone you know, both celebrities and in real life, who would you most like to see host an awards show?
