Mac Dos

Guess what I'm blogging from...

After the mouse and keyboard my old MacBook Pro schizo on me this afternoon, my dad and I decided that it would probably be wise to just invest in a new one rather than waiting for it to just blow up on me completely. I worked that laptop to the bone for 3.5 years, so I'm not surprised it finally conked out on me, though I barely had any issues with it until very recently. I debated switching to a PC for the ease of Windows Live Writer, but in the end the reliability of Macs won me over! I went with the smaller 13" MacBook Pro this time, and I already like that it's lighter and more transportable.

Now I just have to clean out the old computer before transferring all my files over. No use junking my new baby up with papers and syllabi now that I've graduated, right?! Hopefully the computer crash was the last curveball of the week. I'm departing for FitBloggin' early tomorrow morning, and I'm looking forward to a weekend of fun!

After an afternoon of cleaning, packing, computer research and basically organizing my life, it was time for dinner!

My mom recently purchased a few cold bar items at our grocery store, so I decided to make a big salad using the different ingredients.

I started with a bed of spring mix, then added marinated artichokes,

Edamame salad with carrots and roasted red peppers,

And garlic-stuffed green olives and roasted garlic cloves

All sprinkled with sunflower seeds, topped with hummus and drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. On the side I had a slice of rye bread for moppage. Yum!

The colorful salad was followed by a bowl of red grapes and four squares of Lindt 70% dark chocolate. I ate a lot of refined sugar yesterday (peanut butter pie, a pack of undocumented pretzel M&Ms and sprinkle-topped ice cream), so I tried to take it easier on the sweet stuff today, but I can't let a day go by without chocolate!

After dinner I headed to Best Buy to get my computer, and when I came home I snacked on a big handful of peanuts. Now, I'm off to finish packing, finally take a shower (I'm gross, I know), and hit the pillow early. I can't wait to get to Baltimore tomorrow!

What kind of computer do you use? What do you think of it? Are you a Mac or a PC?
