Though my school doesn't formally observe the Easter holiday, I'm missing my classes today and heading back to the city this evening. Train tickets were nearly a hundred dollars cheaper today than yesterday!
Once I get back to school, I'll have only sixteen days left until I'm done. Forever. I'm coming down the final stretch! I guess it's kind of bittersweet, but for me the sweetness far outweighs the bitter part. To tell you the truth, I've kind of been mentally checked out of school this entire year; it's become increasingly clear to me that I don't want to have a career in French, and while I've still been doing well in my classes, the motivation is just completely gone. Furthermore, NYU is a rather impersonal place, which was a great fit since I'm a pretty introverted person, but it's not like I get the warm fuzzies thinking about the community there. A college degree is definitely an important asset in today's world, and I'm incredibly thankful for the opportunities I've been given, but I think there's more to happiness than finding a job you can merely tolerate. I'm excited to graduate and pursue something that I'm really passionate about, instead of pouring time into a major I don't love. I can't announce my plans for a few more weeks (I'm sorry, I really hate to be so vague!!), but suffice to say that they put a huge smile on my face every time I talk about them. Soon!

When I woke up this morning, I was craving both cereal and a smoothie. I weighed the options for awhile before deciding to have them both!
I whipped up a smoothie using a banana, a scoop of chocolate rice protein powder, a spoonful of peanut butter and a cup of almond milk. Then, I poured the finished product into a bowl and added half a dozen sliced strawberries, along with a serving of Trader Joe's High Fiber Cereal.
Breakfast success! This was a great combination- it had all the crunch and fresh fruit of the cereal bowls I love, as well as an extra dose of nutrients and protein in the smoothie "milk." I can't believe it's taken me this long to come up with this combo. Expect to see it again soon!
All mixed up:
It's beautiful and hot out today, and the ten-day forecast has nothing below 61 degrees. Looks like the warm weather is finally here to stay! I might go for a run today to celebrate- it's been ages. Hope you have a great start to your week!
