This evening, I attended a half-hour ab class at my gym. You know it's a tough workout when pretty much everyone but the instructor can't seem to make it through an entire set without resting! We did various forms of crunches, leg lifts, planks, medicine ball moves and several segments incorporating all of the above. My stomach is going to be sore tomorrow, that's for sure!
To be honest, my abs have always been my "problem area." I'm a classic apple shape, with long skinny limbs and a fuller midsection. I know I'm not heavy by any means, and I'm happy with how I look, but I feel like no matter how confident in their appearance a person is, there's always an area they're a little self-conscious about...even if it's mostly in their head! One thing that I've found really helps me get over it is to focus on the positive qualities of my body type, instead of the negative ones. For instance, I feel comfortable and confident in shorts, legs are generally one body part that stays toned into old age, and my jeans never gap around my waist to show a plumber's crack :) Natural body types are one thing you can't really change, so why not focus on the good, right? It's gonna be a long life if you don't learn to love what you were dealt.

Since class was right in the middle of my usual dinnertime, I broke my meal up into two parts. I had a Sunbutter sandwich on Ezekiel bread before:
Just enough to fuel me through the workout without making me queasy.
And afterwards, I made myself a veggie bowl with steamed cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and a diced sweet potato, all topped with salsa.
I also had a pink grapefruit and a package of pretzel M&Ms (my new obsession):
Then I dove headfirst into the Sunbutter jar and cashews. What is it about nuts that's just so good? (No, that's not what she said. Don't even try it.)
Heading to bed soon. Hopefully nothing will make me laugh tomorrow....goodnight all!
What kind of body type do you have? What are the things you love about it?
