The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Today, I fulfilled my 11 year old dream of going to Hogwarts.

All aboard the Hogwarts Express!

The park was seriously amazing. Smaller than I'd expected, but so well done.

My favorite part? Honeydukes, of course!

Candyyyyyyy :)

I wanted to buy it all- cauldron cakes, pumpkin tarts, pink coconut ice, and puking pastilles. Fortunately the hefty price tags kept me from being too upset about the lack of vegan-friendly treats!

I couldn't resist a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, though. I've already dug in and encountered some interesting flavors...like meat. Ew.

We also looked around Zonko's:

And Dervish and Banges.

I was tempted to buy some Potter gear, but decided that I lack the moxie to pull it off as an adult!

The line was too long for a stop inside Ollivander's, but we did take a ride on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey- a ride which, while fun, made me feel like I was going to puke for a solid hour following. I'm so prone to motion sickness!

We spent about two hours in the park before finding lunch at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.

It was definitely a Buffett fan  utopia, complete with screens broadcasting videos of his concerts and a margarita volcano that exploded every hour.

I wasn't very hungry at all following my bagel brunch, so I just ordered a Caribbean Chicken salad minus the chicken.

Lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, candied pecans and mango, topped with oil & vinegar.

One thing my parents and I noticed about the park was how old the average visitor was- while the rest of Universal had tons of little kids, there were only a few children under the age of ten of so in Harry Potter World. It's strange to think that the era of HP is coming to an end!

Now, we're back at the hotel relaxing before dinner. I have a hot date with a few lovely ladies tonight- can't wait!

What part of Harry Potter would you be most excited about? The candy, the rides, the shopping, the experience in general?

Are you prone to motion sickness? Any tips or tricks for beating it?
