Dinner at Millennium

I’m here!

After a smooth (but long) flight, I arrived in San Francisco and headed straight to a dinner the lovely Diana organized at Millenium, a vegan restaurant in Union Square.

Millienium was so welcoming and accommodating, sending us several apps and sides gratis.

Herbed olives:

Pickled veggies:

Bread with a tapenade spread:

Crusted oyster mushrooms (I can’t even begin to describe how good these were, and I generally hate mushrooms):

Roasted carrots:

And seared brassicas:

I could have made a meal from the sides alone, but that wouldn’t have been much fun ;) After a long day of traveling and snacking I wasn’t too hungry, so I got two apps instead of a heavier entree.

More pickled vegetables:

And butternut squash “rawvioli,” with butternut squash sheets, fennel & chile seasoned walnut farce, sweet pepper-olive tapenade, shaved celery root & apple salad, creamy garlic-tarragon dressing.

I loved the walnut filling in the ravioli- it had a great texture and was well-spiced for an autumn dish.

The best part of eating with other food bloggers? We all know not to touch the food until everyone has their money shot.

Surprisingly, the entire table ended up passing on dessert. Although the menu had a delectable-sounding selection of vegan treats, we were all exhausted after a long day of traveling. Don’t worry, I dug into some trail mix after checking in at the hotel J

Speaking of which…doesn’t the room remind you of Mardi Gras?

Overall, it was a wonderful evening and a great way to kick off this little trip. Thank you so much to Millenium for hosting us!

To bed I go- busy day tomorrow!!

That's awesome that you guys got a customized menu! Being bloggers definitely has it's perks. ;)

Also those crusted mushrooms look really good! That might be because they look deep fried haha.

Haha, the food blogger picture is hilarious. Everyone thinks I'm crazy taking pictures of what I eat sometimes so I feel like I have to try and be super subtle about it, but that's a group I'd def feel comfortable with! :)
