Who's taught me so many things:
That the only way to get what you want is hard work (even if the hard work only involves persuading him that I need new shoes),
That while the people who love you will always be there to fall back on, you still have to learn to stand by yourself,
That no one is truly successful unless they treat every single person with respect and kindness, from the trash man to the president,
That peanut butter is best eaten off a spoon,
Happy Father's Day, daddy. Thank you for putting up with my whining, my spending, my drama, and my spoonfuls from the crunchy peanut butter jar. I love you so much!

I'm kicking myself for not having cereal this morning, because after all, I did get my love of it from my dad! He eats a bowl of Kashi with a banana every morning. Alas, I went the oatmeal route.
I used a Three Sisters instant oatmeal packet, made with coconut milk and topped with chopped dried papaya, cashew pieces and Tropical Traditions coconut peanut butter.
Lots of texture going on in this bowl, from the chew of the papaya to the crunch of the nuts!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day celebrating their fathers- or just a wonderful day in general!
What's the favorite memory you have of your dad?
