Bonjour mes amis! I just got home from a meetup with Dori and Dorry at S’Nice, a vegetarian restaurant in Soho.
Dorry is in town from Dallas for a few days and wanted to do a quick vegetarian lunch, so S’Nice’s delicious menu fit the bill.
I ordered the curried cauliflower wrap, stuffed with chickpeas and rice and served with mango chutney for dipping. On the side, I had an order of their roasted broccoli, as well as an iced black tea.
The sandwich was delicious! It was quite dense, so finishing it left me on the verge of stuffed.
Despite my food baby, I still had room for dessert J They have a huge array of baked goods to choose from!
I selected the vegan brownie. It was studded with walnuts and had a slight date flavor to it- moist, chewy and chocolatey.
I also sampled a small bite of Dori’s chocolate peanut butter cookie. I’ll admit that it beat the brownie by a slim margin.
It was great to meet Dori and to see Dorry again! I love blogger meetups J

Last night was a blast as well. It started off innocently enough with a little saltine-eating contest between Mike and I…
The goal: six saltines in sixty seconds.
On your mark, get set…GO!
These pictures are so flattering, no?
This picture is horrible but I love it anyway.
The verdict? Both of us needed about three more seconds to swallow the last bites of saltine. It’s way harder than I thought!!
I also hung out while the boys wielded scary knives and carved pumpkins.
Deadmau5:
Mike’s Wall Street bull:
My friends are talented J
Later in the evening, we got changed into our costumes and hit up several Halloween parties. I was incredibly proud of myself for coming up with our costume idea, though we were told it wasn't quite as cool as we thought it was...
Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf…a play on Mike’s last name. The wolf t-shirt was supposed to tip people off with minimal effort, but I told him he should have gone for a wolf head.
Especially since another couple went as the same thing!
Other winning costumes:
Quailman and Captain Underpants
Snooki and J.Lo (doesn’t she make an amazing Jenny from the Block?)
Mike, Deadmau5, and Mr. Green (from Clue)
Overall it was a really fun night! I’m still debating whether to dress up again this evening.
Last but not least, breakfast this morning: a simple bowl of TJ’s maple brown sugar frosted mini wheats. Yum.
Hope you’re having a great weekend so far!

Looks like you had fun last night, enjoy the rest of your weekend girl!
I wasn't going to dress up this year but now I am going to! I have a cool idea but I don't know if it is going to turn out at all, lol.
Do you have Monday and/or Tuesday off? I do -- if you do too we should do something!
Fun blogger meet up! Mama Pea did the Saltine thing. Did you see it?
That wrap sounds awesome! I'm also jealous of all the amazing veggie eating places where you live!
I'VE DONE THE SALTINE CHALLENGE! I did manage six, but it's definitely harder than it seems! I thought I would be able to do about 10, but it sadly wasn't to be... :P
Your costume was great! Captain Underpants is also a brilliant idea! I may have to steal that for next year...!
okay seriously, you are killing me with all these amazing restaurants and blogger meetups ; )
Love all the halloween costumes!
Your costume was so fun! You look great. Loved 'Snice -- the food was perfect. So great to meet you. How funny that you can say "I just got home from a meetup with Dori and Dorry." How many people will ever say those words?!
Mike totally should have gone for the wolf head! And how mnay times in your life will you honestly have lunch with 2 Dory's?!
Blogger meet ups really are the best! Sounds like a fun one.
And I love your costume idea!
the first half of my pregnancy, i lived on saltines and i could have eaten 6 in a hurry, ive got skills baby :)
your costume looks awesome!!! you look sooo good! You get an A+. Mike, gets gets a C- b/c he only put a tshirt on. Girl. You have got to school him!!! You get all hottified..and he wore a tshirt. Next year is payback, I hope you stick it to him good and make him dress up!!!!
One year I had Scott dress up in full on pirate attire. I was tramping around in next to nothing, the least he could do was play along.

I hope you have another blast tonight!
xoxo!
I need restaurants like that here because there is no way I could ever come up with such a creative wrap idea on my own. It sounds delicious - especially with mango chutney!
Your costume is so cute! I'm living vicariously through you this weekend since I'm stuck at home studying. :P
I LOVE S'Nice. There's one in my nabe, Park Slope. The Thanksgiving Leftovers sandwich is AHMAZING, and absurd (b-sprouts and sweet potatp and cranberry sauce?!). Also delish-- the smoked Tempeh wrap and Tempeh Reuben. I know where I'm eating lunch tomorrow!
Also-- TJ's maple wheat is the best cereal ever. Along with their ginger granola. So yum.
I love your costume idea!! Glad you had fun, too :)
Those pumpkins are gorgeous - they are so talented! And I love the fact that you had a saltine eating competition - though the first thing I saw i that picture was the huge knives in the (what I assume now was a pumpkin, but thought it was a pineapple at first) haha
reasons this post is awesome:
a) great costumes
b) snice!!!
c) saltine contest photos
d) your lovely face :)
So first, CUTE costume!!
Second, the saltine challenge is like impossible. But I LOVE saltines for some reason.. I could eat the whole box!
And finally, will for SURE be on the lookout for that cereal at TJ's!
I laughed so hard when I read that you took the saltine challenge. I have to remember to whip that one out as a party challenge when the men are being persnickity.
Happy Halloween!
@ Marci- yep I saw it!! That's actually what gave me the idea :)
fun to see bloggers meeting up! I love Dorry's blog too :)
Hi Gabriela
You look so cute and that pumpkin is amazing! Did he really carve that!? I have to admit I did a double take of that pb cookie! WOW
