This open-faced guacamole sandwich was epic:
Like yesterday, I mashed a large avocado with lime juice, salt and pepper and heirloom tomatoes before spreading it on two slices of Vermont Organic WW bread. Soft carbs + ripe avocado? Heaven.
On the side, I had a sliced pink lady and a ripe peach.
Don’t forget the chocolate!
For breakfast this morning, I had a bowl of TJ’s High Fiber cereal with blackberries and a peach.
I bought a whole box of perfectly ripe peaches at Trader Joe’s yesterday…they taste like candy!
Apparently cats like almond milk, too?
After breakfast I tried out a pilates class at my gym. I took a few classes several years ago and wasn’t a fan, but since one of my best blends swears by it, I figured it couldn’t hurt!
Though I found the class interesting, it definitely isn’t my cup of tea. I feel like I lack the necessary concentration and coordination, but I’m glad I tried it!
Off to do some errands- have a lovely afternoon loves!
Have you ever tried pilates? What did you think of it? Do you prefer it to yoga?
If you have a pet, do you ever let it eat/drink your leftovers?

Lovely looking guac sandwich! I've never tried pilates though I've wanted to. As for yoga, I'm taking my first yoga class this semester at school and am excited to see how I will like it. I have a REALLY hard time getting my mind/brain to shut up and be in a tranquil nonthinking space (as in yoga or meditating) so i'm hoping I can fix that :)
That top photo of the guac looks so AMAZING. We are avocado fiends, so we'll make it every so often. :) YUM.
I've tried pilates. I've tried yoga in the past. I've also tried those combo classes. I like the pilates work that uses the springboards and such, not so much the floor exercises.
Our cat doesn't really beg for food or go after human food. :P But I haven't tried that out with almond milk.
oooh that guac sandwich has me craving guac!
haha i think i let my dog eat part of my ice cream before. pretty gross but i loooooved that dog.
i haven't taken a pilates class. i think i would enjoy it much more than my yoga experiences.
Haha...our dogs lick our plates after every meal. I made the mistake of letting them do it once, and now they're plate-licking MONSTERS!!
Guac sandwiches are the BEST!! Yum!
Much prefer yoga to pilates.
I have a pilates DVD that I do at home (no one can look at me weird there!). At first, I fell over ALL THE TIME because my balance was terrible, but now I'm getting better at it. If you're interested, the DVD is Burn & Firm Pilates and it's produced by Crunch fitness (the instructor's name is Ellen Baret I think).
Oh i looove mashed avocado on bread!!! The best!! And girl, I can't get enough peaches lately..
And I also used to love pilates. It really works! I have ZERO coordination and I might not look too great doing it but I love it.
Love you! Have a great day!
You are right, Fiber one never gets boring! I seriously could eat a bowl for breakfast everyday! I just try to do new things !
LOVE guac!!! It is the best, and fresh is key!! Looks so good Gabriela!
And I never took a pilates class, did a couple dvd's , enjoyed them , but not loved!
Have a great day! xoxo love u!
I'm just starting up on pilates, not sure how I feel yet. I got the Mari Winsor Abs. A few of the moves are hard for me, but hoping I'll see the results with working my core.
I like pilates because it has more action than yoga, but i do like yoga it relaxes you. LOVE both.
Ooh I wish I hadn't already had lunch so I could make a guac sandwich!! And I love pilates- it's great for abs :)
I had mashed avo on cinnamon raisin toast with coconut oil this morning ... fave. It's like buttah but bettah.
You know how I feel about Pilates - but I also think it takes a while to get into AND I'm not the biggest fan of the classes I've taken at the gym... when you come back to the city you HAVE to come with me to my studio!! You'll adore it there for sure...you can see the entire Manhattan skyline out the window, that's worth it in and of itself!!
I <3 U!!!
Guac is SO good - that lunch just looks so amazing!
I love pilates! But I like to do it on my own and not in a class! I find I get more out of it when I push myself and don't have to focus on other people and question if I'm doing it right, you know? Yoga just isn't for me, though, pilates only haha.
My dog loves to lick leftover yogurt cups and will eat prettymuch anything, but we only feed her dog-friendly stuff, of course
Hi doll! I am also not the biggest Pilates fan. Like you, I can appreciate it - just not my cup-o-tea...aka I have NO coordination AT ALL :) I lurrrrve yoga. Bikram is my favorite but its soooooo unbelievably hot in the summer here that it's the LAST thing I crave. Looking forward to it in the fall/winter though. Do you do any yoga podcasts/downloads? I'd love to learn of some new good ones!!
Your guac sandwich loves amazing. I like to mash medium/soft tofu with avocado for some added protein :)
XOXOX,
Laur
PS...I will be in NYC beginning of Sept. Maybe we could get dinnah or drinks (or both ;)?
I love pilates and yoga, but am a running girl at heart. I would love to get into yoga more to relax and stretch out my body!
My doctor suggested pilates to me as strength training, I'm a little nervous about it but might take a class!
Dude, I -just- learned that I like nectarines and peaches this summer..bought a huge bundle from TJs this morning! I need to wait for them to get a little softer but I love them now!
This post has inspired me to buy avocados and lime juice on my next grocery trip. I didn't realize that a sandwich like that could be so easy to make.
I have done pilates and I like it, but I prefer yoga because it incorporates more of the meditative/spiritual aspect and helps me to calm my mind more.
I have been loving your meals lately...and replicating them as well, haha just thought I'd let ya know! :D I bought a bunch of avocado the other day and they are finally ripe and ready to eat..guess what I'll be making soon?!
ive never tried pilates. kinda want to but kinda not. it seems like all the stars swear by it, but i want to get my sweat on!
Unggh guac, my favorite. Looks delish! I love that you're mentioning pilates...I JUST signed up for a free "introduction" to the apparatus Saturday morning. I've done basic pilates with a video and bands, but never taken a class. Still can't afford it, but I'll let you know how the intro goes!
Doesn't it amaze you that anybody buys pre-made guacamole at the store? It's so easy and way more delicious to make it on your own!
I love both pilates and yoga. But I think they can both be done wrong and be made boring. I have several Jennifer Kries pilates DVDs that I've been doing since 8th grade. They're awesome! And when I used to have cable and a DVR I would record all the episodes of Namaste Yoga on FitTV. I definitely recommend it.
i am not a huge yoga or pilates fan BUT I love hot yoga! thre is smoething about it that is just so relaxing, calming yet powerful. Pilates is def not for me!! I do think its al about the instructor though! if there was a kick butt instructor, that could change my opinion on it!
i LOVE avo's these days!
i love yoga, but am totally not a purist - it's gotta keep moving for me and i'm much more about feeling the burn than finding inner peace (pretty sure i don't have any!). agree with you on the pilates note: waaaay too much coordination required (and the only class i attended was full of sixty yr olds!) :D
Never tried pilates but my yoga is pilates-esque!
I sometimes slip my dog a piece of cheese or my kitties a lil lick of tuna :D
It's so funny that you mention coordination because that's one of the reasons I love Pilates and yoga more than other exercise classes. I'm so uncoordinated but those seem to go slow enough that I can keep up without making a fool of myself.
That guac looks so incredible!!
wow that guacamole looks to die for, love it ;)
I never have done pilates, so I am just a yoga girl I guess. Though I think it would be fun to try one day.
For some reason I haven't been eating a lot of peaches this summer... this post makes me want to go buy a huge box now!
I've never tried pilates, but I'd like to! It's good for strength training, right? It sounds like it'd be a whole lot more fun than weight lifting! I know strength training is important, but I find weights so boring!
