Prepped Out

Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a wonderful Tuesday so far!

Mine started off with a 6 am wakeup call. After cramming two spoonfuls of peanut butter (new favorite early morning snack!), I headed to the gym for an hour of full-body strength and some stretching. Oooh boy, I know I’m going to feel the shoulder presses tomorrow!

Breakfast was a big bowl of spelt flakes with almond milk and a banana.

I was feeling just a tad preppy today, so I headed off to class in this ensemble:

White Ralph Lauren button-down (I stock up on oxfords at the RL outlet), Vineyard Vines patchwork belt, my favorite jeans and Topsiders. Yes, I feel slightly ridiculous. And I love it.

Though I enjoy experimenting with different styles, my favorite looks are always basic and preppy. I think it’s a combination of laziness and a little thrift- not only are simple clothes easy to match, but oxfords and crewneck sweaters are timeless!

After a morning of classes, I came home for lunch. Since my fridge is looking a little bare, I stopped by a deli to grab my favorite spicy tofu pita pocket and some pineapple:

For veggie action, I added some steamed broc and carrots topped with hot sauce for a little kick.

Every time I post pictures of this sammie, I get requests for the recipe. I wish I knew it!! It is available at many NYC delis though, so if you’re ever in the city I definitely recommend hunting one down J

Off to the post office and grocery store!

How do you describe your personal style?

Are there any restaurant dishes you wish you had the recipe for?

I was totally going to ask for the recipe or brand of the pita pocket. Bummer!

I wish I had the recipe for Panera's Chicken Wild Rice Soup. One of my favorite guilty pleasures!

Love that outfit!
I have nnooo idea what my style is - I can be preppy one day, then super girlie the next, then all boho-esque..it just depends on my mood :)
I wiiiish I could recreate all the stuff I ate at Karyn's On Green in Chicago - incredible! Or the food at RAW <- wow!

My personal style is non-existant. I wish I knew how to look stylish, but alas, I always head for the most comfortable. I blame it on the fact that I hate spending money on clothes, but I know I can find cute stuff for good deals. Oh well, maybe one day! For now, in university I can get away with jeans and a tshirt for classes!

i'm totally all about the simple style factor too :) my go-to is always jeans, a t and a pair of cute shoes with a great belt. although it's seeming to work out now with my lack of bank account funds haha

I would say my style is similar to yours. I prefer classic and basic. That is when I actually get dressed in more than workout clothes. ;)

I feel like I've finally settled into my style this year. I didn't really care about clothes in high school (mostly because Vermont has zero shopping opportunities) and my closet count has risen exponentially over the years. Now I'd go for classic with a twist: a belted oxford with leggings and riding boots, a faux-leather jacket layered over a cute sundress, sperrys with shorts and a girly top.

I love your outfit discussions!

Such a cute outfit!! I have a very laid back style- I like to be comfortable- and for me comfort is usually a dress.

My style is a more laid-back Blair Waldorf. I can't really do heels to class but I rock the dresses and tights!

I love the outfit! My style is pretty classic, and well... kind of boring. I try to kick it up every once in a while but it never works out for me!

I have a pretty simplistic style. Black, grey, and navy are among my favourite colours and other mellow tones like wine red and plum purple for the fall/winter. I don't really wear loud colours, and was even dubbed 'plain bagel' on a trip I was on because I bought the same sweaterin navy, grey, and brown.

I am proud of my 'plain' colours though. :)

For some reason I can't pull off button down tops, but you look so adorable! I'll live vicariously through you and your button ups, if you don't mind?

I think my style is kind of a mixture of a lot of things. Basically whatever I'm in the mood for that day. Anything you find at Anthropologie is something that I would wear. I like wearing flowy and light things especially

I love your preppy style! Mine is all over the place. I guess you could just say that my style is comfy and easy. I'm a big fan of cardigans, scarves, leggings and riding boots.

My style is pretty classic with a few trendy pieces thrown it. I just buy the trends as cheaply as I can so that when they go out of style, it's all good :)
You're rockin that polo girl!
And wow those oats sound AMAZING!!! Just might be my breakfast tomorrow...
Love ya!

I have no idea what my style is. It's kind of a mish mash really!!

I do like your outfit. It's very "clean & fresh" looking.

I'm in NYC, and just LOVE those Spicy Power-Fu sandwiches. LOVE. They're so comforting and chicken-salady while not too closely mimicking meat--which can sometimes gross me out. And they're wonderfully filling for lunch.
