Remember how I said I had a day left before reaching oats-in-a-jar status?
I decided to go big or go home. Excessive nut-butteriness is what makes OIAJ.
In the jar:
- Large mashed banana
- ½ c rolled oats
- 1 scoop Trader Joe’s chocolate hemp protein powder
- splash of almond milk
- frozen raspberries
- Barney Butter remnants (~3 T?)
Delightful.
By the way, I was a rebel and ate these for lunch, not breakfast. Consequently, a salad beast rounded out the meal.
Romaine, tomato, carrots and pickles topped with mustard.
Rewind to breakfast: a bowl of SmartBran, spelt flakes and a humongous peach in almond milk.
This bowl was huge- really filled me up!
As per my training plan, today was a strength workout. I headed to the gym and did three reps of 15 on each of the circuit training machines, along with some ab work and lots of stretching. My legs were so tight- reminder not to cut corners on stretches!
Class all afternoon, homework all night. Already back into the grind!
Are you good about stretching frequently? What are some of your go-to stretches?
What’s your favorite “breakfast food” to eat for lunch or dinner?”

ah I need some pancakes or something for dinner tonight. Its been far too long since I have had breakfast for dinner!
I hear ya on homework. Dont ever go to grad school unless you like not pulling your face out of a book. ever.
Happy wednesday!

Pancakes and Migas are good at any time of the day (or night)! Your food choices look pretty amazing as well.
Love your blog by the way!
I've been thinking of making some savory crepes for dinner!
I'm glad school's going well for you! Loved your first day outfit by the way.
And I love breakfast for lunch. Pancakes are good anytime of day!
I eat OIAJ, or any oatmeal creation for that matter, for lunch all the time! I find that it is the perfect pick me up that keeps my hunger at bay for the afternoon.
I'm terrible about stretching. I just started to really incorporate more yoga in my life, so hopefully that will help!
I love pigeon pose! It's definitely my favourite.
Your OIAJ looks amazing! :D Sometimes I like eating scrambled eggs on toast (with ketchup) for lunch instead of breakfast.
I always feel rebellious when I eat breakfast foods at lunch and dinner! My favorite is definitely cereal. I could at pretty much any kind of cereal at any point in the day!
I could definitely be better at stretching frequently (that's why I do yoga and foam roll now! Hah), but my go-to stretch is to sit in a straddle and stretch out to each side and the center. I was a cheerleader in high school, so some days if I my muscles feel tight I'll plop my computer in front of me and sit in a straddle for awhile!
Have a wonderful day! :D
OIAJ is definately my favorite breakfast food!!!
I love scrambled egg sandwiches for lunch...and I never eat them for breakfast!
OIAJ is still on my list of things to try-- I can't believe I never have!
I never heard of OIAJ until just now but you can be sure I'm going to try it!
PANCAKES. pan. cakes.
every time i hear "oats in a jar" i think of that justin timberlake snl skit...you know the one, i'm sure...about the bick in the box? ;]
Cereal is a great snack any time of day, and I have tofu scramble for dinner all the time! Also, I should let you know that you inspired me to buy some coconut kefir this week. It makes for some tangy cereal!
I could eat breakfast at any meal of the day! I love love love oats and never get sick of them! =) I have tried the OIAJ yet though! Thats up there on my two do list!
I try to be good about stretching, but often neglect it because I'm too "tired" or "lazy" at the end of a workout.
I love having eggs for lunch or dinner, as well as oats!
I'm pretty good about stretching, especially before and after runs as i'm SO AFRAID of getting injured!
What a genius idea! I hate wasting the bits of nut butter in the jar at the very end. Genius. I love to have an occasional veggie omelet for dinner with hot sauce. Though to be honest, sometimes nothing is better than a little cold cereal on lazy days.
ugh i'm suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch a stretching cop out!!! and i've been feeling the wrath of not stretching a lot lately! major fail on my part.
love your boldness with the oiaj. totally worth every last morsel in that jar. and why the heck do you ALWAYS have the best looking peaches!
I like doing omelets and egg scrambles whenever I have breakfast for lunch or dinner. Lately I've been curious about trying savory oatmeal. I'm not sure how it would taste though!
I'm terrible at remembering to stretch properly! And I always feel it the next day when I don't.
I had a great stretching routine when I was hardcore working out in the gym to shed a few Holiday and unhealthy eating pounds, but now I'm so bad about it. I need to get back on board with the whole stretching gig.
pancakes!! and cereal!!!!!!!!!!!!
xoxooo
yesss i love stetching! esp my hamstring and hip flexors they are always so tight!! the foam roller is amazing for loosening up those muscles too!
mmmm barney butter is so good! i can't find it close to me wahhhh
I love bulking up cereals with fruit. Yum!
Not quite as yum as that OIAJ though. I love having lots of nutbutter goodness.
I'm horrible with stretching - I know I should be better. Those oats look AMAZING!! I love OIAJ - unfortunately, my jar is too large for my spoon right now. So I will have to forgo OIAJ this time around.
Sorry to be boring but green smoothies is the best daily breakfast for me. Though I do like to change it up a few times and have something different like pancakes or homemade yogurt or something!! :)
I'm loving the pickle action in your salad beast...I did the same thing today and it totally made the meal! Hope the beginning of school is going well dear :)
I never stretch enough pre or post run! I reallllyyy need to start doing that, for serious.
And a bowl a cereal is perfect any and every time of day-- breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, midnight snack, you name it! :)
I am loving your 'fit pics! As you said, it's harder when the winter weather comes, so why not look super fab while you can? Although I know you rock the snowboots with the same fiercness ; )
