Early Weekend

Salut mes belles! I’m happy because Thursday afternoon is the official start to my weekend. Most NYU students don’t have classes on Fridays, which gives us three glorious classless days. I find it ironic that college is considered a transition into the “real world,” but high school followed far more of a “real world” schedule.

I woke up early this morning, grabbed a peanut butter cookie Luna bar for pre-workout fuel, and hit up the gym for cross-training. 3 miles of sweaty intervals later, I was ready for breakfast!

Typical: Fiber One, SmartBran and a banana in almond milk.

Today’s ensemble: gray dress from Target, navy blue blazer, paisley headband and red flats from J.Crew. With a kissy face J

Love J.Crew. Though their stuff can get pricey, almost everything goes on sale eventually, and students get a 20% discount. Plus, their styles are classic and they use quality materials, so the clothes last forever. I'd rather invest in a sweater I'll have for years than a flashy dress that I'll be sick of in a month!

After my translation and French history classes, I came home to lunch:

I’ve given up trying to go without these. Why deny myself something so healthy and delicious, even if it might get repetitive?

  • Avocado mashed with lime juice and S&P
  • Tomato
  • Cucumber
  • Carrots
  • Red onion
  • Romaine
  • Salsa
  • Cedar’s whole wheat tortilla

An apple rounded out the meal.

This afternoon I’m finally going to clean my apartment. I’ve been putting it off for days! Happy Thursday loves!

What would your ideal school/work schedule be?

What is your favorite clothing store?

Lucky lady!

I could easily get used to three day weekends. Just that one extra day makes a world of difference in my book.

I stay true to Banana Republic. :)

That dress is adorable! Did you get it at target recently?

Anthropologie is always satisfying.

I ttally agree! High school was 9 til 4..uni is like, 9 hrs of lectures a week!? Though all the outside work is tough :s
Ideal work schedule = I don't care! If I could work from home, I'd be happy, even if I was mega busy!
Hehe, I love those guac lunches :D why fix it if it isn't broken!? I'm the same with dinners :P

I'm an actor so I have no schedule. Sometimes you get up early, sometimes you have to stay up late, and sometimes it's noon and you're doing marketing stuff in your pajamas at home. I like it this way but you do have to inflict a routine on yourself or you'll devolve into becoming less and less productive.

BTW your classes sound fun!

My fave clothing store is honestly Plato's Closet. They sell "gently used" clothes for a huge discount. And besides that, Express. I just love most of their clothes.

What a cute outfit! And I loved the freedom of college classes. Isn't it awesome?!

I miss college and law school more than words can express sometimes, for two specific reasons: (1) the ability to wear a hoodie and even sweatpants! to class if I so desired, and (2) no classes on Fridays. So sad that the working world has not caught up to just how much that would improve society.

Funny you say that about J.Crew and their quality - I feel like it's really slipped a bunch lately. My Jackie cardigans are just not as fabulous as I remember them being. I do love their suits and blazers, but it's been tough finding anything else there for the past few seasons!

cute shoes girl! i love me a good pair of red flats :)

i totally felt like you last night when i glopped a whole gaggle of avacado on my salad :) i thiiink i might just do the same tonight!

my ideal schedule i think would be 9-5 for work but maybe on wednesdays like a 10-3 kind of thing... but i like staying busy!

Jcrew and Anthro for sure...though I wish they could both be less expensive.

It's totally funny how crazy of a schedule we get on in college. Not much like normal life. Although, I don't think my current job would qualify as "normal either". Starting between 4-5am and off by 2pm. Not sure if I've ever gotten used to waking up so early :)

JCrew and Anthropologie are my two favourites! I love that you are posting your ensemble of the day-you have such fantastic style.
I actually have a good friend that I met while shopping at JCrew. She is one of the personal shoppers and an absolute doll and we always get into these long conversations when I go in. :)

I also LOVE the bowl you had your cereal in! Too cute!

Your salads look so good all the time, so don't deny yourself them!

I think my favourite work schedule would be either 7:30-3:30 so I could still have a lot of time free in the afternoon, or else 9:30-5:30 to allow for a morning workout :)

ADORABLE outfit!!! I love JCrew. I rarely buy from the store at the mall though. I usually buy from the outlet or online during sales. You can find some great deals!!!

I love your outfit! Mine favorite store is Nordstroms. Classy, their clothes hold together, I can get stylish clothes and running shoes, and its a family tradition that my mom takes all of the kids to the Nordstom sale since that is what her mom did :)

im right there with you on the jcrew boat! my favorite store! i love how everything is embellished/slightly dressed up but never looks fussy or overdone. i recently purchased their haya sweatshirt for yogaing/class - and its great to have such a basic article of clothing feel so luxe and unsloppy :)

Grrr I'm jealous of your early weekend. I wish I was coming up again this weekend, actually! :P

Sometimes I wish our national week was 4 days with a 3 day weekend. Doesn't that make more sense than 5 versus 2?! I guess the 2-day weekend makes us appreciate the time more, though.

You should go out tonight!! It's so gorgeous outside. Once again, jealous :) xoxoxo

Such a cute outfit! I wish we had J.Crew in Canada. My favourite stores here are Urban Outfitters, H&M, Aritzia and FCUK.

I think my schedule last year was pretty ideal! My classes were all between 10:30 and 3:30. This year I have a lot of 8:30 classes though. :P

I miss my weekends starting on Thursday!!! That could have honestly been the best part of being in college - for real! I would love to work Monday-Thursday. Can elementary schools get in on that deal?
