Yesterday after the cookie-fest that was school, a few classmates and I decided to hit up Shake Shack for burgers. It was on my restaurant bucket list, so I was excited to try it out!
We went to the original location in Madison Square Park, and the line was freaking huge. Popular place!
It took us about 40 minutes to get to the front, but we were determined. Sugar overdoses = massive savory food cravings.
Shake Shack’s menu is pretty basic- just burgers, hot dogs, fries, shakes and ice cream.
I went with a classic hamburger, plus a side of fries to share with the table and a Diet Coke.
Prior to my Bareburger of a few weeks ago, I hadn’t had a burger in years. While that one was pretty gourmet, this one tasted much more like the hamburgers of my youth, especially on the white bun with ketchup and mustard. Two of my classmates eat burgers on a pretty regular basis, and they thought the burgers were good but that they’ve had better.
And crinkle-cut fries make everything better.
It was a gorgeous day to sit outside in the park and eat. We’ve been having great fall weather lately, with temperatures in the high 60s and lots of sun. Too bad that won’t last long and I’ll probably be pulling out my down parka within a few weeks…
Time for a lazy Saturday. Enjoy your weekends!
Has fall hit yet in your neck of the woods? Or are you still in summer or onto winter?

Well it rained and snowed two days ago and before that it was in the 80′s. Now the temp is creeping back up into the 70s. The weather is so random here. Its definitely a summer into winter king of deal.
I need to check out shake shack sometime, i have yet to try it!
Those crinkle cut chips looks SO delicious! I love my gourmet food but that meal looks equally appetising right now!
This past week summer definitely left us…and the cool, crisp fall days are sticking around! As long as its another couple months before I see that white stuff I am happy
The burger and fries look good…a lot better than the ones from McDonalds!
I haven’t had a McDonald’s burger since elementary school I don’t think, but I agree- this was definitely way better
We were in winter mode this week but now we’re heading into late summer early fall as the temps are going to go up again today! Mid 80′s here we come! Then another cool down…Mother nature cannot make up her mind.
That burger looks so good! I’m definitely in fall mode and not summer mode anymore..mainly because my summer tan has completely disappeared and its depressing haha
Tan lines disappearing makes me sad too.
I am so jealous of your experience at Natural Gourmet! I am curious though… with all the indulgent treats and tasting food all day… have you gained any weight? This is not mean to be a negative comment in any way, just was interested in knowing! I think i would be 340 lbs. if I baked cookies and pies all day. haha
I have gained about five pounds at this point, but I’m not too worried about it. I’m only in this school for 4.5 months and I’m more than halfway done, so I figure I might as well try everything. I’m hoping things will even out with a little clean eating and a more set meal schedule once I’m done in December!
We’ve been switching back & forth between the fall & summer weather where I live! The past few day it’s been beautiful — in the lower 70s! I think it’s supposed to jump up to the 80s the next few days, but then we’ll get the cooler temps back. Enjoy your weekend!
Wow, that’s an intense line! Something about that burger and salty crinkle cut fries had my mouth watering. I’m in the same boat as you. I had a burger several weeks ago at my friend’s parent’s cook out, but before that it had been years since I’d eaten one. I’m kind of ready for another one…
I’ve past by the Shake Shack many times, but I have never been!
I am LOVING this fall weather!
That’s too funny - I just watched “Something Borrowed” last night and this place was in it!
i remember when the shake shack first opened in MSP! it’s pretty funny to watch a phenomenon.
I have heard that place was awesome, I forget what show I was watching on Food Network that featured it, but I would like to try a shake from there!
Happy Weekend love! <3
That place looks so cute - and good, what a fun friend date! :
Looks like it was a gorgeous day in nyc too
Oh fall has hit here. There are hot snap days but overall fall is definitely in the air.
Your pics in this post are so sharp and clear. The weather must have agreed with your camera b/c the images are just sooo pretty
Have a great weekend!
oh!! you made it to shake shack! not that great eh? haha i felt the same way when i went there. although i didn’t have a shake but still i mean i wouldn’t waste my whole lunch break again like i did that time. okay and next time it’s cookie day at school I’M COMING!
Crinkle cut fries dipped in a mixture of ketchup and mustard are the best!
As for the weather, it has just been plain crazy here. Yesterday afternoon it was about 80 degrees, we had a tornado warning last night and now today it is only around 50 degrees and rainy.
i love shake shack and actually almost went there with a friend yesterday but we decided on Five Guys because it’s closer and we’re lazy.
But seriously, shake shack is awesome! You HAVE to try the concretes, frozen custard flavors, and ice cream though. Their flavors are unique and tasty.
Hi! I don’t think I’ve commented before, but I’m Cody Smith’s wife (your web guy).
We went to NYC for the first time this past weekend, and we totally ate dinner at the Shake Shack Saturday too!! (for dinner)
Just now getting caught back up on blog reading…but just had to tell you!
Such a funny coincidence!
