Yesterday after the cookie-fest that was school, a few classmates and I decided to hit up Shake Shack for burgers. It was on my restaurant bucket list, so I was excited to try it out!

We went to the original location in Madison Square Park, and the line was freaking huge. Popular place!

It took us about 40 minutes to get to the front, but we were determined. Sugar overdoses = massive savory food cravings.

Shake Shack’s menu is pretty basic- just burgers, hot dogs, fries, shakes and ice cream.

I went with a classic hamburger, plus a side of fries to share with the table and a Diet Coke.

Prior to my Bareburger of a few weeks ago, I hadn’t had a burger in years. While that one was pretty gourmet, this one tasted much more like the hamburgers of my youth, especially on the white bun with ketchup and mustard. Two of my classmates eat burgers on a pretty regular basis, and they thought the burgers were good but that they’ve had better.

And crinkle-cut fries make everything better.

It was a gorgeous day to sit outside in the park and eat. We’ve been having great fall weather lately, with temperatures in the high 60s and lots of sun. Too bad that won’t last long and I’ll probably be pulling out my down parka within a few weeks…

Time for a lazy Saturday. Enjoy your weekends!

Has fall hit yet in your neck of the woods? Or are you still in summer or onto winter?
