Greetings from the Healthy Living Summit!

I took the train into Philly yesterday afternoon after my half-day of NGI classes. Last year I flew to the HLS in Chicago, so the hour-and-a-half train ride was a much easier commute!

Immediately upon arriving, I headed to the check-in area.

This year’s swag bag was great and packed with good stuff, especially nutrition bars and cereals:

Fillo Factory fillo shells, Attune Uncle Sam cereal, Quaker Oatmeal squares, Adora disks, Cascadian Farms Organic granola, Eden pasta

Larabars, Musselman’s applesauce, LoveGrown granola, Barney Butter, Clif bars, Vega powder, Sunchips, Odwalla bars

Coconut oil, Mix 1 smoothie, Garlic Gold products, a Nature’s Path bar and this year’s t-shirt- in purple!

My roommate Brittany and I spent awhile just hanging out in our room before heading over to the welcome cocktail party at the Reading Terminal Market.

It was a really neat place to host the event! I’ve only ever been there when it’s open during the day, but since the market shuts down at 6 pm, we had the whole place to ourselves.

The food spread was incredible. Pizzas, foccacias, fruit and cheese plates, bowls of fresh crudites and passed appetizers like crab-corn fritters and mini Philly cheesesteaks.

I helped myself to a big plate and kept nibbling all night.

In addition to the food, there were two bars serving wines, local Philly beers and a special chia-seed cocktail.

I had two beers over the course of the night: a Walt Wit White Ale and a Fleur de Lehigh wheat beer.

The Fleur de Lehigh was my favorite!

Over the course of the night, I got to catch up with a ton of old blog friends and make some new ones:

Me and Katie, who I’ve been wanting to meet forever.

With Juliette from Finish Your Broccoli- we actually went to high school together!

Julie and Courtney

The party ended at 10pm, and I headed back to the hotel like the grandma that I am. Today is a busy day- Brittany and I hit the gym for a quick workout this morning, and we’re about to head down to breakfast. Talk to you all later!
