Kick the Lag

So I think I've finally kicked the jet lag- I woke up naturally this morning at 6:30. Still a bit earlier than my usual 7am, but methinks the bright sunlight pouring into my room may have had something to do with it. It's actually kind of weird that I'm typing this and it's already passed 7- waking up at 5 sure did make the morning seem longer and more productive!

For breakfast this morning, I switched things up a bit by making some smoothie cereal.

In the smoothie:

  • 1 c almond milk
  • 2 T ground flax meal
  • six strawberries on steroids
  • large handful of blueberries
  • two large handfuls of spinach
  • scoop of chocolate Sun Warrior

After pouring the smoothie into a big bowl, I topped it with a serving or so of Kashi GoLean cereal. The smoothie was just right, with lots of berry flavor and a slight nuttiness from the flax meal.

Last night, my old friend Lauren and I had a nice long chat and I have to say, it really helped to dissipate some of those "weird" feelings. Sometimes all you need is to vent to a friend. She's the best :)

Here's to a good day!

When your sleep schedule gets out of whack, is it easy for you to jump back into your routine or does it take awhile? I'm fine if a change in time difference means I have to wake up earlier than usual, but having to wake up later really messes with me. I just can't sleep in!
