This evening for dinner, Mike and I went to Iron Hill Brewery, a small local chain offering good pub food and a wide beer selection. I've been there several times in the past, but not recently!
Instead of ordering our own brews, we opted to split a house sampler with eight four-ounce pours.
My favorites were the signature Light Lager, which tasted slightly of honey, and the Vienna Red Lager, which conveniently was Mike's least favorite. The dark beer on the right was a porter that tasted strongly of coffee- it was weird.
For dinner, I ordered a blackened tuna salad with roasted red peppers, candied pecans, tomatoes, onions and a breadstick. I told you I can't get enough seafood lately!
Speaking of tuna, I order mine rare, and this was perfect. Must have been all those steaks saignants as a kid.
Mike got a cheese pizza topped with green peppers, which he said was good as well.
Afterwards, we headed back to his house and sat on the patio for awhile. Summer is finally here in all its glory, and I love it. Nothing beats sitting outside at 8PM with the sun still shining and no need for a jacket!
Now that summer weather is finally here, what's your favorite thing about this season?
