Guilty dog strikes again.
Remember all those chocolate chip cookies from this morning? Well, I left them on our china cabinet in the dining room, which normally Miss Maggie isn’t allowed into. Somehow, though, she finagled her way in there and stole a whole bag of them. Bad dog.
I have to say, though- so far she’s stolen Sun Warrior, Trader Joe’s nut butter and chocolate chip cookies. Is this my dog or what?! Amazingly, she hasn’t gotten sick, either. Apparently she also shares her mama’s ability to consume massive quantities of sugar no problemo.
Since she depleted the cookie stash considerably and I was out of ingredients to make another batch, I whipped up some peanut butter cookies instead:
As well as two batches of Gracie’s cake batter blondies,
And the base for Courtney’s cookie dough cupcakes.
I’m planning on making the baklava this evening, and finishing the cupcakes in the morning. Whenever I go on a bakeathon, I have so much fun. To be honest, my dream career would incorporate the kitchen in some way! Hmmm…
Because I sampled one of each of the finished products once they were done (quality control, you know), I didn’t have a huge appetite for lunch. However, since I’d gone to the gym for 20 minutes of HIIT and an upper-body strength workout this morning, I knew I should get some quality food in my belly! I had a whole-wheat sandwich thin with Trader Joe’s almond butter, plus an apple:
As well as a bowl of strawberries and blueberries. It’s a total scorcher out today, and fruit is nice and refreshing.
My mom also shared a truffle from her stash with me. This was chocolate ganache enrobed in dark chocolate.
In light of today’s sweets consumption, I think dinner will include plenty of vegetables…
If you were a dog, what kind would you be? And if you don’t like dogs, you can choose another animal
I actually think that Maggie is me in dog form. Blonde, sweets-loving and sometimes annoyingly hyper…
