Hippity Hop

Good morning everyone, and happy Easter if you're celebrating today!

Growing up, Easter was second only to Christmas in terms of excitement. My brother and I would spring out of bed and hurry downstairs to partake in the Easter candy hunt my parents would set up in the living room. Bite-sized candy would be hidden everywhere, waiting for us to snatch it all up in five minutes. Luke would always get way more than me, so my parents would even it out before giving us baskets filled with big-ticket items, like chocolate bunnies and giant cream-filled eggs from our grandparents.

Take a second to take in our outfits. Luke's shirt says "How to Lick a Tyrannosaurus. And I still have that t-shirt. It's a minidress now.
One year, they gave us a wooden Noah's Ark set instead of Easter baskets. What a letdown. Can you sense the disappointment in our faces?

Moody.
After church, we'd usually have my extended family at our house. My mom would set up an egg hunt in our big yard for all the cousins, so Luke and I would get the chance to run around like maniacs again- but this time, we'd be hyped up from all the candy we had for breakfast.

Those shoes were so cool circa 1999.
I'm the little one in the pink dress on the far left!
I think I peaked at age five- I had a loooong awkward stage (like age 7 to 14), but wasn't I a cutie pre-chipmunk cheeks and greasy hair?

Please notice the lace gloves.
Making deviled eggs. "REAL eggs?! WHERE is my chocolate, mom?!"

Unfortunately, my parents think I've grown too old for Easter egg hunts, which explains why I'm the only one up right now. Breakfast can't compare to the Easter Bunny loot, but it was still pretty darn tasty.

I had a big bowl of Trader Joe's High Fiber cereal with half a pint of blueberries and almond milk.

It's so warm out today- I love it!! We're going to church to see my grandfather sing in the choir, then to a gathering at my aunt's house.

Now, that bunny must have left me chocolate somewhere...off to investigate! Have a wonderful holiday :)

Do you celebrate Easter? If so, what are your family's traditions? If not, what's your favorite holiday tradition in general?
