It's That Time of Year Again...

...for prom dress shopping!

While I was at the mall with my friend Maggie the other day, we were talking about how much we missed the prom-dress search that overtook the spring months in high school. At our all-girls' school, study halls were spent (illegally) trolling the internet for the perfect dress, and Facebook groups were established to ensure that no one purchased someone else's gown. Serious stuff!

This afternoon I cleaned out a bunch of old photos from my hard drive, and discovered a slew of old photos. Now I'm semi-tempted to find a high schooler to ask me to prom, just so I can wear a pretty dress again...

One of the benefits of single-sex education is that you get to go to multiple proms each year :) Some of the dresses were borrowed from friends, but I do wish there were more occasions to get this dressed up in college!

Of all the proms I attended, I'm glad that my own senior prom was my favorite. I brought a really outgoing friend as my date, and it was just a blast. I'll never forget the Latin teacher breaking it down in his bow-tie and cummerbund!

This afternoon, I snacked on yet another serving of pumpkin peanut protein pudding:

1 c pumpkin, 1/4 c peanut flour, maple syrup to taste, almond milk to thin and a hefty shake of cinnamon on top

As well as some prunes:

10 pm bedtime and prunes? Oh, and I did have shingles a few years ago...I'm totally geriatric :)

For dinner, I threw a bunch of random stuff in a bowl and crossed my fingers it would turn out tasty!

I combined half a diced cucumbers, two handfuls of baby carrots, a large chopped tomato, a serving of TJ's meatless meatballs and a hummus/marinara sauce made with 1/2 c marinara and 1/4 c hummus. Thankfully, it turned out absolutely delicious!

I had two unpictured slices of sprouted toast on the side, as well as a bowl of perfectly crunchy red grapes.

Then this happened:

I'm a very neat peanut butter eater, meaning I scrape the sides down as I go and don't like having anything but a smooth, even top layer. The fact that I'm slightly OCD about the state of my peanut butter jars means that I eat a lot of it while perfecting the top!!

Enjoy your evening :)

Did you have fun at your senior prom? What did your dress look like? How was your date?
