I know this particular group of friends from the musicals I participated in at a local all-boys high school. Yes, I did musicals for awhile- until I decided that singing in front of people is not my cup of tea and switched to costumes instead. It was nice to see everyone!

Despite the solid amount of snow on the ground this morning, my parents and I ventured out to Costco to stock up on staples. I had a bowl of Uncle Sam with a banana and almond milk before we left:
It's been a few years since I've in a wholesale warehouse like Costco, and man- that place is a money pit. We left with a cart full of nut butter, nuts, cat food, baking supplies, produce, snacks, non-perishables for my apartment and hummus. Lots of hummus.
In fact, we now have a whopping fourteen containers of hummus- five of which are triple-sized.
This household loves its hummus!
Obviously, I had to incorporate some Trader Joe's tomato-basil hummus into my lunch.
I topped four small slices of dense, chewy sourdough with hummus, tomato slices, fresh basil and pickles.
And enjoyed my open-faced sandwiches with a sliced apple and an egg cup full of crunchy peanut butter.
The last sliver of raw chocolate cake rounded out this meal.
This cake is the bomb- super decadent tasting but healthy, filling and packed with nutritious ingredients. I need to make another one!
Before I go, I just wanted to let everyone know that my comment system is a bit on the fritz at the moment. IntenseDebate is sending them all to moderation or spam despite my settings, but I am approving them all as they arrive! Hopefully I'll get the glitch ironed out ASAP. Thanks for your patience!
