The Jeans Question

Hi everyone! Just a quick post before I head out to celebrate a birthday this evening J

I’m wearing the new jeans I posted about last week- since several of you asked, they’re Citizens of Humanity Kelly low-rise bootcut. Jeans are one item I feel more comfortable splurging on, since you’ll get dozens of wears and several years out of a great-fitting, well made pair! I know skinny jeans are far more en vogue at the moment, but in my opinion nothing makes your legs look better than dark bootcut jeans + heels.

This afternoon, I snacked on two whole-wheat tortillas with salsa, as well as an unpictured handful of cashews:

I ate a rather early and light dinner, since I’m pretty sure this evening’s festivities will include some more eating!

I added a sliced tomato, two carrots, a handful of spinach and a spoonful of nutritional yeast to a can of Amy’s vegetable barley soup, then topped it with cracked black pepper and salsa.

Along with a pita: (I accidentally bought white instead of wheat at the grocery store this week, and I have to say that I don’t hate it J)

Dipped the pita in some Whole Foods lemon hummus, as well. It was on sale the last time I stocked up, so bought three containers!

Finally, a mug of grapes and a single Ghirardelli milk chocolate square.

Heading out- hope you have a great night!

What fit of jeans do you tend to prefer? Skinny, straight-leg, flared, boot-cut, trouser-cut?

What clothing items are you most likely to spend a little bit extra on?

I like skinny and boot cut jeans - jeans are super hard for me to find. I actually need some new ones! :)

My two favorite pairs I have had for at least 4 years. THey're still holding strong!!

I'm not a skinny jean fan- I prefer boot cut or flare!

I like straight leg and bootcut! Your jeans are adorable, I love em! I think spending extra on a great fit is so worth it! I spend a lot on nice sweaters and jeans for sure

I wear skinny the most, but I think trouser cut can be super cute. I'm still looking for a great pair of those!

I agree-- bootcut jeans are definitely my friends!

I wear skinny jeans most often but honestly think I prefer boot cut.

I've been dying for a pair of Citizens forEVER. They always fit perfectly except for the fact that they're so long on me :/ I guess I just have to bite the bullet and get them tailored...

I'm generally a skinny jean girl...mostly because of the long-factor I just mentioned! I also love to wear jeans with boots and skinnies are better for that.

Not sure what you're up to tonight, but have fun!! :D xoxoxo

i loveee skinny jeans. I dont like all the bunched up pant bottom that you get in winter when you tuck em into boots.
shoes.. end of story:)

I cant wear Citizens or Sevens. Well, I can, but they just dont really do it for me. I am more into Rock & Republic, Hudson!!!! or even True Religion (but i hate their stiff denim). Those jeans look great on you and altho skinny is trendy, i totally agree w/ you on what is flattering. Bootcut or straight-ish leg w/ heels make everyone's legs and butts just look better I think :)

I did a whole jeans post a month or two ago..It was so fun hearing everyone's rec's and suggestions!

have fun tonite!

I'm loving skinny jeans right now since it shows off my figure better...I have thin calves in comparison to my thighs so skinny jeans show that off and give me 'shape'

You look H-O-T girl =)

I'll admit that I am a convert to the jegging. I like to wear my jeans tucked into tall or short boots, and these definitely work better than straight leg or boot cut would. If I wore heels enough, I would definitely invest in a pair of nicely washed boot cuts that made my butt look extra nice.

Im with you on splurging on jeans. And I too am all about the boot-cut, baby. I dont mind spending more on things that I wear a ton. I divide the cost by the times Im going to ultimately wear it, and then its not so bad!

I love that Amy's soup! So good for a quick meal. Ooooh-- lemon hummus?! YUM-O!! Sounds great. I'll have to give it a try next time Im at Whole Foods :)
I like straight leg and skinny jeans--occasionally a pair of medium flare leg...low rise every time ;) I love to pamper my feet. Seriously-I can never get enough shoes...best thing ever to splurge on!! The next pair I want are some professional Danskos...so comfy and stylish! Im okay with splurging for my feet since they are stuck in figure skates all the time! :)

I love the Citizen's Ingrid flare, but yours are super cute too! Dark washes are the only way to go...

Oh I just love those jeans. I must admit I am a skinny jean fanatic, but maybe I should start considering a boot cut!

I like to change up the jeans, a little o this and a little o that. But more often than not I wear the kind you bought, I'm not the hugest skinny jean wearer. And I totally agree about splurging on them, with the amount I wear them! Coats too. You need a good coat with how cold it gets here and I find that a lot of cute ones just don't keep me warm enough. I definitely wear them enough to make splurging worth it! And I'm kinda in the middle with gym clothes, I don't spend tooo much but I do want to feel good about myself. If it makes me work harder, than spending a little more on them is worth it!

I'm a fan of skinny jeans because they work the best with boots and flats. Plus they're the easiest to get tailored since I almost always have to have my jeans hemmed! :P

I usually splurge on good quality boots/shoes. Cheap footwear always gives me really bad blisters!

So funny that you posted this today, I was packing for the weekend this morning and lamenting over my clothes! I don't splurge on anything and rarely buy clothes for myself! I need to fix that... stat ;)

Tina @ Faith Fitness Fun said...

Yea those jeans look fabulous on you! And I'm with you. Jeans are the one clothing item I really don't mind splurging on.

I'm a fan of bootcut...although I LOVE skinny jeans for boots ;)

Love the jeans and boots you have on! I have such a hard time shopping for jeans. I am not really a fan of skinny jeans on me, but I did buy a pair of jeggins and love them. haha

I love boot cut jeans! Way better than skinny or flare for me

Bootcut, definitely. I'm getting annoyed with low rise though and find myself not wanting to wear my more low-rise jeans.

I've been super into skinny/straight jeans lately - perfect with flats in the summer and tucked into jeans in the winter. But gotta have a few pairs of boot cut just in case!
