Foiled

Sometimes, plans just don't work out the way you'd hoped, no matter how hard you try to get things to materialize!

Mike and I were supposed to see a bunch of friends from high school this evening, but our plans fell through and we ended up just hanging out, snacking and watching how cannolis are made on the Food Network. Which, incidentally, is one of my favorite things to do anyway...

For dinner, we went to Wawa, where I got a veggie sub with oil & vinegar, yellow mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, red peppers, banana peppers, sweet peppers, pickles, salt, pepper and oregano.

Along with a cup of watermelon chunks.

For dessert, we shared some holiday treats:

A gingerbread Trader Joe's chocolate covered oreo

A few salted caramels, and a chunk or two of unpictured peppermint bark.

Currently, I'm snacking on my second third bowl of fruit salad and some sesame peanuts.

Bedtime for this old lady- see ya tomorrow!

Why do Wawa subs look so much better than Subway's? I hope to get to taste them for myself and finally understand!

your opening line about plans sometimes just not working out despite valiant efforts...omg that was my post about my dslr camera from about 24 hrs ago. or 18. yeah, it worked out, but not according to "plans"

that salted caramel? is that a TJs find or a homemade? if it's storebought i must RUN to the store for that one!

how are those gingerbread oreos? i love GB and oreos. Probably not GF but they look great. Thoughts?

sleep tight!

Things never work according to plan! Or at least in my life anyways.
I've just learned to roll with the punches and find that when I expect the least/worst outcome, the best outcomes happen!

Haha, I ALWAYS go to bed at 11pm, or at least try my hardest ;). I need about 8-9 hours of solid bed rest...

I was in bed at 10 last night, but I had to wake up at 5 for work. I am an old man, but I am proud ;)

I hate when I look forward to something for so long and then it never happens. Seems like you had a fun night anyways. Gotta love Food Network! ;]

Food Network is actually my life- that sounds like the perfect date!

hmm...sounds like a perfectly fine night to me! ;) Sorry your plans fell through to meet up with some friends, though.
And gingerbread oreo? Man, I'm really jealous now...you people with TJ's and WF's are spoiled ;)

I hate when that happens too. You get all excited about everything, plus all the work to organize something, and then it falls through. But when the day comes that plans actually happen it is wonderful!

Lol-- my students go CRAZY talking about WaWa. We don't have them in Altoona anymore-- only Sheetz-- and apparently this is a BIG deal. :-)
