For instance, my afternoon snack:
1.5 c canned pumpkin, mixed with two scoops of vanilla Sun warrior, cinnamon and a splash of almond milk.
I've polished off two entire cans of pumpkin in a 24-hour time span. And I'm weirdly proud of it.
- Fusilli pasta
- Equal parts plain hummus and nutritional yeast, with water to thin
And then proceeded to eat the entire four-serving bag. For the record, frozen fruit makes a great study snack- healthy, sweet, and slow to eat (unless you want a brain freeze)!
But who am I kidding? Chocolate = brain food. The whole bar was demolished, and it was delicious.
What foods can you eat a ton of and not get sick of? I could probably eat ten pounds of fruit in one sitting. Nature’s candy! And anything with chocolate, of course :)
Do you pay attention to portion sizes? I try as hard as I can to listen to my body when it comes to portion sizes, but it’s hard not to check the nutrition facts and dish out a portion size- whether it be more or less than what you’re really hungry for.

oh that trader joe's dark chocolate is SO good! i have a bar in my fridge and i love love loveeeeee it!
i went to crumbs yesterday and thought of you hahaha we got my brother the half baked cupcake for his birthday. there was so many friggn choices!
i'll never get sick of popcorn! or popcorn and chawwwcolate :)
I def do an overload on sweets when they're around, which is why I don't keep them around often. I also could eat a small mountain of mashed potato . . . yum
I try to eat what I'm hungry for while keeping in mind portion sizes...so if I'm "hungry" for ice cream, I'll scoop out what looks good...but while remembering what the serving size is.
I can't get sick of banana & PB combo these days- I've been eating it constantly!
I could eat all the ice cream in the world and not get sick of it!
you are SUCH an inspiration to me. seriously though. you remind me of who I am--- sans any ED.
youre a rockstar. and you're beautiful. never forget that!!!
The vegan mac and cheese looks yummy - I need to try it! I don't know why I haven't, actually :P
I'd almost say I could eat fruit and not get sick of it, but I bet I would...I can only eat so many apples or other sweet-ish fruits before my stomach wants to explode! haha. So, with that - I think I'd have to go for oatmeal. Now THAT never gets old ;)
And I look at portion sizes when I first have something because I can grossly under/over estimate what I want/need. Mainly things like quinoa, bulghur, oats, etc. A "serving" is pretty much perfect for me, I have learned. But if it's not or I'm really hungry, easy to add more!
We never pay attention to portion sizes anymore. We did a few years ago and that was not a pretty site. We become obsessed with calories, food sizes, working out to burn it all off = not good. Now with how we eat, a plant based diet, we do not worry. We know we are eating what our bodies what and use for energy!! We are a lot healthier now both mentally and physically compared to us always worrying about calories, etc. :) It took awhile to get where we are, but so worth it! xoxo
I was really snacky today too...some days, I just want lots of small things!
I am totally on ya with the chocolate indulgences...usually go for half a bar or full small one! I just try and eat what my body craves but of course read labels when first buying things.
Haha I'm right there with you on the pumpkin! Good thing it's cheap! I read the labels on things, but I don't put much stock in it. Portion sizes are subjective!
I try to portion control on things like dedadent treats, but when it comes to fruits and veggies, I don't watch it at all!
I don't think I've ever felt too full from fruit. It's definitely my favorite food!
I used to pay soooo much attention to portion sizes and measure everything out but then I stopped measure things like PB and dried fruit and just took as much as I was hungry for. For me, it makes me eat less because I always used to feel obligated to eat the portion size. Once I realized that I don't have to eat 2 tbsp of PB or 1/4 c of dried fruit, I think I ate less.
But...with marathon training I find that I am always hungry so I definitely think my eating and portions have increased! I try not to let it freak me out, because I do know my body needs the extra fuel! And (one last thing haha) I think living a college lifestyle is very active. I go to a HUGE university so I probably walk 4 miles a day and am going from 7am-9pm every day! I'm sure you're the same way!
Have a good rest of your week :)
i could eat so much fruit in one sitting! right now training for my competition its hard because I have to limit my fruit but I want it so bad! i love it all types! i will DEF never get sick of almond or peanut butter either!!! it needs to dissapear for me to get sick of it!
It's impossible to save half of those bars. I mean, the serving size IS one bar, so eat it all!
Probably fruit for me also; never get sick of it. I definitely pay attention to portion sizes or else I start to pack on the pounds!!
last year during senior year i had to write a thesis (stress! mindless eating to the max!) and i would go through bags of frozen cherries, mango, pineapple and strawberries like it was my job! lol. i could NEVER get sick of nut butters, oatmeal, fruit or chocolate :)
of course chocolate is BRAIN FOOD!! bahah. and i LOVE the pumpkin snack - NO shame in going thru those cans! pumpkin must dissolve or something after you open it bc mine goes by wayyy too fast as well.. anyway girl I LOVE YOU!
i literally eat entire bags of frozen brussel sprouts as a side dish. i can't help it. SO GOOD. my teeth are too sensitive for frozen fruit!
Oh chocolate.. never ever get tired of it! Or sweet potatoes. I eat them like candy! What is it about orange food that is SO GOOD!?
I do happen to pay attention to portion sizes..well serving sizes anyway. If I'm still ravenous after 1 serving, I'll get another one.
What food can I not stop eating? PB..always PB.
after a week of salads, i'm surprised i'm not sick of them! in fact, i'm craving more!!!
Haha way to go on demolishing all that pumpkin! I could probably eat bananas and yogurt all the time and never get sick of them!
I pay attention to portion sizes for things like oats and rice, but I otherwise it's too hard to measure. I mean I have no idea how much yogurt I scoop into my breakfasts in the morning or anything. And when it comes to fruits and veggies, there's no such thing as portion size! :P
Hhhmmm...probably sweet potatoes and chocolate :D
I just listen to my body and don't pay attention to nutrition information serving sizes. I am more interested in the food being made of whole, natural ingredients and try to buy food that doesn't come in packages.
I really need to try that hummus + nutritional yeast combo. :)
When it comes to fruits & veggies I don't measure out. I figure when they come naturally from the earth-- there's nothing better than getting back to basics. I have been loading up on pumpkin and butternut squash...love fall squashes! I've been enjoying pumpkin with vanilla protein powder, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice & raisin. It's hard not going back for seconds! :)
That dark chocolate is sooo good!! and I need to try the nutritional yeast/hummus combooo!
Peanut butter is something that I just can't get sick of . . . and it's something that I really have to watch in terms of portion size.
