Just Peachy.

Chocolate lovers, take note:

Raw chocolate cake with raw chocolate-coconut ganache frosting.

To make it, I used Katie’s recipe for raw chocolate cake, then made a huge batch of Averie’s coconut oil chocolate for “frosting.”

The best part? Licking the bowl J

I made the cake for when Mike and his parents come over for dinner this evening. Also on the menu:

  • Grilled tilapia with mango-avocado salsa
  • Vegan tortilla lasagna
  • Grilled veggies
  • Super Charge Me cookies and coconut gelato
* * *

Breakfast this morning was a bowl of TJ’s high-fiber cereal with blueberries and a white peach.

Loving the blueberry-peach combo- summer’s last hurrah!

The weather today is pretty chilly for August (low 70s), so I took advantage of the break in humidity and went for a 4-mile run. It made me so excited for perfect running weather in the fall!

Around 10:30, I had some “brunch” before doing errands:

PB&Co.’s The Bee’s Knees on Alvarado Street Bakery multigrain bread…

Plus two big sliced peaches.

I’ve eaten six peaches in the last 24 hours!

After stops at the grocery store and Target, I had a Flatout with salsa and some red grapes:

I figured I should probably eat real food before gorging myself on chocolate J

Off to the kitchen!

What’s your favorite dish to make for company?

What are you most excited about this fall?

Your cake looks amazing! Love your colorful bowl of cereal too! You make me want to be outside so bad (well not today in the rain but ya know). I never really have company over but if I did..I would try to make cookies or brownies! Haha I am so not creative.

Those peaches are gorgeous! What I would give for weather in the seventies- today we're having 108 degree heatwave and it's PAINFUL. That raw vegan chocolate cake looks delicious- I'm not a big raw or vegan eater but that looks incredible and I'm sure it tastes great as well :)

I usually bake my buttermilk chocolate cake for guests. It's a winner for sure.

I'm looking forward to apples, pumpkin, hot cocoa and FOOTBALL!

I am looking forward to fall fashion! I love the layering, jeans and boots and jackets and scarves and playing with silhouettes.... Oh, and pumpkin-cinnamon flava flavs!

Hope your day is fabby, love!

That menu sounds CRAZY good!! Somebody took notes at the "healthy entertaining" seminar at HLS, haha ;) You know me - not a *huge* fan of chocolate - but that cake looks TO DIE. I'm pretty sure you're going to impress the in-laws with that one :P

First off, that's a gorgeous brunch, and the cake is beautiful too! You should try Nigella Lawson's nutella torte! It's not nearly as healthy, but it's great!
For company, I find that fajitas are really easy and delicious. For my family I often make salmon fillet sandwiches with cheese avocado and spinach.
That weather sounds beautiful! I can't wait for that chill!

Your dinner sounds great! I made those cookies once for a party and they were a huge hit. Oh and I cannot even imagine how delicious that cake is!!

I honestly love making food that people have no idea is vegan - it is one of my greatest joys.

I am excited to start wearing sweaters... and boots.. and eat pumpkin everything.

I've been eating peaches like crazy too. Gotta take advantage before the season passes! And speaking of seasons - YES it is sooo feeling like fall now! I am excited for hot meals, eating lots of squash and sweet potatoes, the leaves changing... I'm ready for it!

For company I love to make a lemon-olive oil cake - people always love it. I'm almost always on dessert duty as opposed to anything else (my expertise, you could say ;) )

Wow, does that look amazing! I read the actual dinner post first and thought for sure that cake was something from a speciality bakery. Give yourself a pat on the back girlfriend. Simply beautiful!
