Can you believe that prior this summer, I’d never eaten a whole avocado? I’ve been making up for lost time all summer, and have discovered my absolute favorite way to eat these reptile-skinned fruits: mashed with lime juice, salt & pepper and tomato, then slathered atop two thick slices of chewy bread.
Open-faced guacamole sandwich, where have you been all my life?
With a juicy local peach:
And a plate of grapes, almonds and a chocolate raspberry Attune bar.
Breakfast this morning was a bowl of Cheerios topped with raspberries and almond milk.
For the record, Cheerios are so not a “kid cereal.” They’re delicious, comforting, and have a 100% pronounceable ingredient list.
Seconds were eaten- a rarity for me, especially in the morning. I'm still working on the hunger size over portion size thing J
Today's workout was a HIIT workout on the elliptical. It was an awesome session- I've been missing cardio during my increased strength training!
This afternoon’s agenda includes some baking and a meet-up with a reader. Have a wonderful Monday, loves!

What “kid foods” do you still eat?
Are there any foods you've only recently discovered, but already love?

Oooh is the Attune bar nice? I'm yet to try mine..
Hmm..kid foods...does peanut butter count!? I can't really think of any more! I'm so wise and mature :p
I love raw chocolate, that's my new obsession :D
arent you glad youve given into le guac-de-delicioux?! hehe
Hmm - I love those panda puffs or whatever they are!! Definitely "kid" marketed cereals (though not the super sugary ones). Also lovin' all the guac!!
I love Cheerios too . . . I eat the Apple Cinnamon kind sometimes. And you're right, they have a 100% pronounceable ingredient list, which is why I love them! One food that I recently tried and grew to love is asparagus. Never even cooked it myself until yesterday. So tasty!
Life cereal :-). And macaroni noodles that come in the shape of cartoon characters (they just seem to taste better!).
I'm loving almond milk now that I've found it. I wasn't a huge fan of soymilk and am glad that I've found a good replacement.
well...i eat the occasional pack of baby food in oats or yogurt...that's certainly a "kid food"! haha.
but other than that, i really like graham crackers and milk. and if i ever get around to eating baked fries again, they're gonna have to be in the shape of smiley faces. if i can't smoosh ketchup through the eyeballs of my potatoes, then i dont want them!
i am loving on larabars - i hadnt tried one before this summer!!!
Can't believe it! Avocados are SO AWESOME. I'm glad you finally discovered them. :)
Being a California girl I was raised on avocadoes :) so creamy and delicious. As for kid foods, I still like the occasional oreo cookies- and I mean real OREO not whole foods or trader joes versions.
Perhaps my most recent food discovery is cheese...I hated cheese up until about a year ago- I'd ask for everything without it/pull it off pizza (i think i had a bad childhood experience with it) and now I love different types of cheese! Not plain though...ugh...it has to be on top of pasta/pizza/in quesadillas/or melted in a sandwich.
i randomly just discovered that i love jalapeno slices on sandwiches!
avocados are soooo good right now! I can't get enough either! mmmmmm.
have a great afternoon!
Yeah, guac sandwiches are pretty much the bomb dot com. :-)
I'm drooling over everything. It all looks so good! Have fun with the reader meet up.
Cool, I also had guac(a whole avo mashed with hot sauce and lime juice) on bread for lunch for the first time today! I've just started liking them:)
Kiddie food for me is vegan nutella type spread on toast or potato waffle and baked beans.
haha i think you created a chocolate & quinoa monster in me. i'll allow the avacado one to slowly come out too ;)
LOVE cheerios, applesauce, and graham crackers!
I love Fava beans! Love them :)
I haven't tried avocado yet, but if I do, this is the first recipe I'll try, I'll let you know! :)
I LOVE Clif Z Bars for kids! They are much lighter than the traditional Clif bars and they don't give me a sugar hangover :)
I tried spaghetti squash for the first time a couple of weeks ago and am OBSESSED with it. We paired it with pesto and pine nuts. Heaven!!
Just recently been in love with avocados too! Kid food I like - the little freeze dried fruits that I feed my baby. The mango ones are especially good on a salad.
BTW, I love all cereals, so I would have thought nothing of the cheerios.
I totally agree about Cheerios! I love them! I always need a second bowl too. ;)
I never really ate beets until this summer and now I'm obsessed!
This looks delicious! ;)
mmm your avo sandwiches look OUT of this world!! so so so delicious!! I love kiddie cereals! rarely eat them but they are so good! rice krispie treats and honey nut cherrios are two of my favorites :)
I LOVE avocados! I probably eat 4-5 a week but sometimes everyday. They are just so good. I like to mash them up and spread them on rice cakes, too. I was not a chocolate eater growing up...I always chose fruity desserts. I'm 28 years old and just started eating (AND LOVING!) chocolate. All types. :)
Avocados are the bomb. Loving them more now than I ever have!
Little kid food that I appreciate more now: chocolate pudding, Annie's Bunnies (though I know they weren't around when I was a kid, I consider them to be a modern and healthier version of Teddy Grahams), and PB & Js! Always ate them when I was little but my love for them has only grown ;)
